Is it time to check the state of your health? With Aava's extensive health check-up package, you can find out how your body is doing and what kind of changes it might need in order to feel better.

The extensive laboratory package includes the examination of blood values ​​relevant to your health. With the help of the package, you get information about, for example, your body's iron reserves, vitamin intake, blood sugar and fats, fluid balance and inflammatory conditions. At the same time, you will find out the function of your kidneys and liver, as well as the health of your thyroid gland.

Based on the results of the laboratory tests, we can recommend changes to your lifestyle that are suitable for your health or, if necessary, refer you to further examinations.

Studies included in the package

  • Basic blood count and platelets(B-PVKT): There are eight different sub-tests in the blood count: white blood cells, hemoglobin, red blood cells, volume fraction of red blood cells, average volume of red blood cells, average hemoglobin concentration of red blood cells and platelets.
  • Ferritin(S-Ferrit): Ferritin indicates the body's iron reserves.
  • Vitamin D(SD-25): A fat-soluble vitamin that is needed for the normal functioning of the body. It is important e.g. for bone health.
  • Hemoglobin A1c(B-HbA1C): long-term blood sugar balance.
  • Thyroid test(S-TSH): investigates thyroid gland dysfunctions, such as hypofunction and hyperfunction.
  • Cholesterol and other blood fats(fS-Lipids): find out what kind of fats are in the body and measure the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases.
  • Creatinine(fS-Krea): finding out the functioning of the kidneys.
  • Liver examination(S-Alat): helps to identify possible liver diseases or liver dysfunctions at an early stage.
  • Blood sugar(fP-Gluk): helps identify possible diabetes or blood sugar disorders.
  • Sodium(S-Na): Investigation of fluid and electrolyte balance.
  • Potassium(SK): Investigation of fluid and electrolyte balance.
  • Fold(B-La): gives indications of possible inflammatory conditions or diseases.

Preparation instructions and results

Preparation for research

  • Before the examination, you must not eat or drink for 10–12 hours.

In the morning before coming to the examination, you can drink a small glass of water. You do not engage in strenuous physical exercise during the day before the examination. Also avoid smoking.

Arrive early enough for sampling so that you have time to sit for 15 minutes in peace. In this way, the blood circulation stabilizes for the sampling. Remember to bring a photo ID with you to laboratory tests.

Interpretation of research results

If you want a doctor's interpretation of your examination results, book an appointment with Aava's general practitioner in online appointment booking or by calling our customer service at 010 380 3838. Please note that the doctor's interpretation is not included in the price of the health package.

The results also enter the Aava application and the Oma Aava service.

After the examination and interpretation of the results, you will be directed to further examinations if necessary.
